Why read Monday Morning Power?

You will find a consistency and a focus in all of my content that can change your attitude which can fuel a positive change in your life, if you want it to. If you are happy with your attitude and your life and see no reason for changing, then you either already have a PMA (Positive Mental Attitude), or you are a victim and want to hold onto your misery. These postings will then serve to fortify the person with PMA, or, hopefully, convince the "victim" that there is a better way. This site will contain essays, poems, stories, humor and links, all with the same goal: The pursuit, capture, care and feeding of a Positive Mental Attitude. I have had readers tell me that they have spent hours on my site and feel great about themselves both during and after. I log onto my own site frequently to help fuel my attitude; I hope you will as well.

To My Fellow Bloggers.....

Please feel free to link my blog to yours. A dose of "Monday Morning Power" would bolster any blog, except for those that profess doom, destruction and the end of the world. If you want to use any of my content in your blog, please ask first via email or by comment. I will need to review your blog for appropriate content and then give you written permission as well as being sure that you link back.

Monday Morning Power

A dose of "Monday Morning Power" and a cup of coffee and you're ready for whatever awaits you. At a minimum you should read this blog on Monday Mornings. However, there will be new posts daily. Whenever you want to feel good, tune in and help yourself to some "Monday Morning Power." Please share this site with everyone you care about. I welcome your comments and suggestions

Are You Prepared For Success? (Section III - Installment #5 "Don't Despair” – Male & Female versions)

(If this is your first time on this site, you may want to begin with "Are You Prepared For Success?" [Introduction])

If you are a regular reader of my Empowerment Process please read the Section II version of this poem first; then read this version.

Don't Despair

I'll stand in the face of total despair
And hold my head up high,
And look beyond as I declare
That through this I will fly.

Nothing will stop me short of death.
I'll feel sorry for myself no more.
And I am far from my last breath
As I set sight on a distant shore.

This is only a temporary state.
I know this in my heart.
I will not let this be my fate.
From this place I will depart.

There is a better place for me.
This truth I have uncovered.
A victim, I will no longer be,
My passion, I have re-discovered.

I am the one who will do it now.
It's all within my control.
I see what can be and I take this vow,
"I’ll never lose sight of my goal."

(An Original Poem by Mel Kaye)

I strongly suggest that you write down your immediate reaction, after passionately reading this poem.
  • Try this...In your mind's eye, back away from yourself and your current situation.
    • What do you now see?
      • Do you like what you see?
      • If you don't, what are you going to do about it?
      • If you do, reaffirm what you like.

Hey Mel,

Another hit!!! What an amazing poem :D!! The difference between this one and the previous one on section II: is the use of the personal pronoun "You"; whereas now you used "I". The use of I turns the poem into some sort of mantra, doesn't it?

Indeed, when one is down one needs to let the mind instantly look for solutions (after all we are survivors by nature, our minds were designed to look for solutions to get out of the dirt).
It is a question of deciding if we are going to allow ourselves to be in total despair forever or not (of course it is best if you decide not to, right?).

What do I see? I see a pretty brilliant future ahead of me.
Do I like what I see? I adore it...it is the result of years of hard work (I started young).
Reaffirmation: I worked for it I got it!

I feel so much better now that I read your post, Mel! I was a bit stressed, but now it is all gone :)! Thanks!

Cheers

P.S: Mel, at the end of the poem in Section II you put a link to Installment #6...perhaps you meant #5?

Hi Max,
As usual, you absolutely get it. My hope is that these poems will eventually be put into book form for continuous reference. Even when one is flying high there are those times when life can get you down. Reading the appropriate poem can do wonders!

I will check into the link.
