If you are a regular reader of my Empowerment Process please read the Section II version of this poem first; then read this version.
It's Never Too Late!
I'm no longer young, but not past my prime.
The realization sets in. I won't run out of time.
I know what's needed, the changes I must make,
The direction I must go, there's so much at stake.
I'm no longer comfortable, nor content with me.
My "failings" are not friends, they're the enemy.
I know it's not easy; there's some effort required,
To make the needed changes no matter if I'm tired.
I will try, I will do, try and I will not fail.
Over and over it’s not the same old tale.
I've found the reason to make the change,
A life altering reason, for my world to rearrange.
I'll no longer rationalize my fears. I will make the move.
I won't stay where I am, in this same old groove.
I will dare to take a chance on what might be.
I have what it takes to really be free.
My life will be different, no longer the same.
I'll look ahead with hope, not back in shame.
My past wasn't a failure, a sham or a fake,
I won't look at my life as one big mistake.
My past has a purpose, a reason for being.
It's what has prepared me for this time of seeing.
My past was the groundwork for this step to take.
My future is waiting. It's my decision to make.
There's was no magic answer for me to discover,
No hidden secrets for me to uncover.
I won't look for guidance, for the answer's in me.
I know what to do for I am the key.
(An Original Poem by Mel Kaye)
I strongly suggest that you write down your immediate reaction, after passionately reading this poem.
- List the changes you will make so that you move towards the future you most desire.
- How will these changes affect your future?

When thinking about changes in life, esp. ones that bring us closer to what are true wants, desires, and goals are, it is just to easy to rationalize the reasons that they are not feasable. The human condition.
I try and look ahead to what could be, and ask myself, "What would you do to accomplish this". Anything is sometimes the answer
The next thought is always money. I do not like my job, but how can I leave it?
Determination.
The ability and willingness to sacrifice, and accept that hard times ahead can clear the pathway. A road to success is never paved with thought alone.
I conquered my alcoholism. I have overcome the lost of a job. I move to the point where I can teach golf. I will do anything I can to get there.
Hope
Faith
Determination
More faith
Speedy,
You seem to have all the ingredients it will take to make the transition. All that's left is to DO IT.
Once you make the decision, there is no looking back. It's hard to fly with one foot still on the ground.
You talked about money....life is a compromise; everything has it's cost. You have to decide what's more important to YOU. From what direction will bring you happiness. I am big on happiness is a choice; so is everything else.
Can you be happy in your current job?
Can you be happy doing what you love, but with less money?
Choice
Commitment
determination
believe in yourself
let go
Live with your choices and choose to be happy. If you "can't" then make another choice.
The hardest part is making the decision. Once the decision is made then go for it 100%.
Hi Mel,
I now you originated the Winning Attitude Award, and I am giving it back to you because you personify the meaning behind it. You can pick it up at http://blog.werelivingwell.com
WCT,
I will be right over. Thank you for the kind words. My goal, for my readers, is enable them to feel better after a visit than they did before their visit.
Absolutely love this. This is inspiring and so right on. Reminds me of the post I wrote a couple days ago about choices. I will keep reading. So glad you're here. Take care, Mel and have a gr8 day.
Hello again,
This poem is slightly different; but equally powerful: congrats!!
"I know what to do for I am the key" - you got that right! This sentence has my name written all over it! :) I am the key that opens the doors of the future....
"The only way to cope with change is to help creating it" this quote (taken out of my Management book, a mantra for business people, I guess lol) is what helps me whenever I am scared by change...it is not easy to change yet change is the one of the things that are inevitable in life; so we must learn how to cope with it!
Right now, I am still enjoying the "change phase" that started 4 years ago; I am still building my future; let's see what will happen when the next phase gets here, when I am all comfy in the present phase and life comes to me saying "hey, girl; it is time to change again" lol...
But God willing my future will be a bright one :)!
Have a blessed weekend, my friend :)!
Chuck,
Thanks for the comment. To be quite honest, I'm glad I am here (LOL)
Max,
"The only way to cope with change is to help creating it" - I like this, "the best way to stay on the road is to have helped design the road, that way you know where all the curves, pot holes and obstacles are." - my own quote.
In my view, you've GOT IT.
I know I'm repeating myself, but I really look forward to your insights!
Interesting readd
