Why read Monday Morning Power?

You will find a consistency and a focus in all of my content that can change your attitude which can fuel a positive change in your life, if you want it to. If you are happy with your attitude and your life and see no reason for changing, then you either already have a PMA (Positive Mental Attitude), or you are a victim and want to hold onto your misery. These postings will then serve to fortify the person with PMA, or, hopefully, convince the "victim" that there is a better way. This site will contain essays, poems, stories, humor and links, all with the same goal: The pursuit, capture, care and feeding of a Positive Mental Attitude. I have had readers tell me that they have spent hours on my site and feel great about themselves both during and after. I log onto my own site frequently to help fuel my attitude; I hope you will as well.

To My Fellow Bloggers.....

Please feel free to link my blog to yours. A dose of "Monday Morning Power" would bolster any blog, except for those that profess doom, destruction and the end of the world. If you want to use any of my content in your blog, please ask first via email or by comment. I will need to review your blog for appropriate content and then give you written permission as well as being sure that you link back.

Monday Morning Power

A dose of "Monday Morning Power" and a cup of coffee and you're ready for whatever awaits you. At a minimum you should read this blog on Monday Mornings. However, there will be new posts daily. Whenever you want to feel good, tune in and help yourself to some "Monday Morning Power." Please share this site with everyone you care about. I welcome your comments and suggestions

SCHOOL ANSWERING MACHINE:

This is the message that the Pacific Palisades High School (California) staff voted unanimously to record on their school telephone answering machine This is the actual answering machine message for the school. This came about because they implemented a policy requiring students and parents to be responsible for their children's absences and missing homework. The school and teachers are being sued by parents who want their children's failing grades changed to passing grades - even though those children were absent 15-30 times during the semester and did not complete enough schoolwork to pass their classes.

The outgoing message:

"Hello! You have reached the automated answering service of your school. In order to assist you in connecting to the right staff member, please listen to all the options before making a selection:

* To lie about why your child is absent - Press 1

* To make excuses for why your child did not do his work - Press 2

* To complain about what we do - Press 3

* To swear at staff members - Press 4

* To ask why you didn't get information that was enclosed in your newsletter and several flyers mailed to you - Press 5

* If you want us to raise your child - Press 6

* If you want to reach out and touch, slap or hit someone - Press 7

* To request another teacher, for the third time this year - Press 8

* To complain about bus transportation - Press 9

* To complain about school lunches - Press 0

* If you realize this is the real world and your child must be accountable and responsible for his/her own behavior, class work, homework and that it's not the teachers' fault for your child's lack of effort: Hang up and have a nice day!

* If you want this in Spanish, you must be in the wrong country.".

Apparently, this was never actually instituted. The threat of lawsuits and parent complaints stopped it's inception. But, I do love the idea.

Sindi,
Happy Valentines day to you also.

Nick,
This is so out of the ordinary for a school. My wife is a Middle School teacher and I know what their "political correctness" standards are. This is why I had to post this.

Mimi,
Happy Valentines Day to you too.

Why are you shouting on us ;) Why are you using such a big font in your article?

DubLiMan said...

Hi Kim,
I'll be right over.

DubLiMan said...

Madamoiselle,
I like # 7 also.

DubLiMan said...

Max,
Unfortunately, it never actually made it onto the answering machine.

DubLiMan said...

Autonomous,
in the climate of clarity and honesty, I added your point of clarification and a link back to the site you listed.

DubLiMan said...

Zaphyr,
It does make it seem like I'm shouting. Point taken.....I have reduced the font.

I need feedback like this.

Thank you!
