Why read Monday Morning Power?

You will find a consistency and a focus in all of my content that can change your attitude which can fuel a positive change in your life, if you want it to. If you are happy with your attitude and your life and see no reason for changing, then you either already have a PMA (Positive Mental Attitude), or you are a victim and want to hold onto your misery. These postings will then serve to fortify the person with PMA, or, hopefully, convince the "victim" that there is a better way. This site will contain essays, poems, stories, humor and links, all with the same goal: The pursuit, capture, care and feeding of a Positive Mental Attitude. I have had readers tell me that they have spent hours on my site and feel great about themselves both during and after. I log onto my own site frequently to help fuel my attitude; I hope you will as well.

To My Fellow Bloggers.....

Please feel free to link my blog to yours. A dose of "Monday Morning Power" would bolster any blog, except for those that profess doom, destruction and the end of the world. If you want to use any of my content in your blog, please ask first via email or by comment. I will need to review your blog for appropriate content and then give you written permission as well as being sure that you link back.

Monday Morning Power

A dose of "Monday Morning Power" and a cup of coffee and you're ready for whatever awaits you. At a minimum you should read this blog on Monday Mornings. However, there will be new posts daily. Why MondayMorningPower?

Why MondayMorningPower? Even though the answer, at least to me, seems obvious, I still believe that I need to express it. Let’s start by my asking you a few questions:

  1. Are you sad when the weekend is over?
  2. Do you not look forward to the week?
  3. Do you have a really hard time waking up on Monday Morning?
  4. Do you wish Monday Mornings were never invented?
  5. Does the week seem to drag on like it will never end?
If you answered “yes” to 2 or more of these questions you are “Monday Morning Averse.” In other words, Monday morning is anything but a friend. What you need, what most of us need, is a way to make Monday Mornings a friend; to actually look forward to the week; to be excited about Monday Morning; to accept the challenge of the week with enthusiasm; to have “Monday Morning Power,” the power to take you all the way through the week; to have the right attitude and to change the negative internal messages into positive ones when it comes to Monday morning, and all aspects of your life.

There you have it. I believe that reading my blog on a regular basis will help cultivate within you a positive mental attitude (PMA) . If you already have PMA, then this blog will help in it's care and feeding. I believe that we need to look at every minute of every day with wonder, excitement and enthusiasm. We need to live life to the fullest. We need to choose to be happy; after all we only have a short time on this earth. We need to keep negative energy at bay. We need to be grateful for what we have. Changing your attitude can change your life. You need to be able to laugh. You should treat others with respect and give them the benefit of the doubt, whenever possible.

The actual name of this site is "Attitude, the Ultimate Power." This name is explained quite nicely in my series of articles called "The Process." However, most of my readers refer to this site, on their links, as MondayMorningPower. I am considering changing the name to MondayMorningPower. Any and all input on this would be very much appreciated.

As usual, I have a tendency to go off on tangents when it comes to positive energy. Getting back to the original theme of this post "Why MondayMorningPower?"; what better way to start off the week than feeling empowered, in control with loads of enthusiasm for the challenges that lay ahead.

Are You Prepared For Success? (Section II - Installment #10 "The Achiever” - Male and Female versions)

(If this is your first time on this site, please begin with "Are You Prepared For Success?" [Introduction])

The Achiever

The power of positive

Thinking is great.

As to this fact

There is no debate.

Great feats can be achieved

By woman or man

Simply because

You believes that you can.

Whatever the field,

Whatever the goal,

Whatever the task,

You know in your soul,

You know that it's true,

That no great achiever

Ever achieved greatness,

Not being a believer.

You too can be great,

Its not reserved for the few.

The next great achiever

Can actually be you.

You too can attain

These loftier heights.

Believe in yourself

And reset your sights.

(An original Poem by Mel Kaye)

I strongly suggest that you write down your immediate reaction, after passionately reading this poem.

Are You Prepared For Success? (Section II - Installment #9 "Desire” - Male and Female versions)

(If this is your first time on this site, please begin with "Are You Prepared For Success?" [Introduction])

Desire

You're never too young and your never too old;

You're never too meek and your never too bold.

Set your sights, fix your mind on what you want to be.

If your desire is strong enough, then you will see

What you need and what it takes to make your dreams come true.

The seeds of greatness are there within you.

The power of faith and desire is strong.

With your belief in that power you just can't go wrong.

Nothing will happen if you sit home and hide.

Your future is waiting for you to decide

What direction you'll take and how determined you are;

To see what can be and know you'll go far.

Can you feel it? Can you see it? It's out there for you.

Know that nothing can stop you from seeing it too.

How bad do you want it, how strong is your will?

You're greatest wish is waiting for you to fulfill.

Say it loud, say it often, say it each and every day

"Your desire is power and you will find the way."

(An original Poem by Mel Kaye)

I strongly suggest that you write down your immediate reaction, after passionately reading this poem.

  • Make a list of what you most desire (within the bounds of physics, decency, morality and the law.)

Keeping Negative Energy at Bay

Our lives today are constantly bombarded with negative material and messages from the media, on the evening news, newspaper headlines, radio stories, to angry co-workers and more. It is difficult to go through a day without being faced with world, national or personal disasters. No matter whom we are, where we go or our intentions, it is difficult to avoid all of the negative sources of information.

Our mind is completely undiscerning when it comes to the information we give it. That is, it takes all the information, whether positive OR negative, and uses it as a resource from which to make decisions. In a sense we are unwittingly programming our mind with negativity.

We all face the constant danger, over time, that these negative messages become our own negative thoughts and often we do not even realize it.

We go throughout the day with other people’s negative thoughts and outside events influencing our own thinking. These negative thoughts soon become our reality and our life is seemingly filled with negative thoughts, energy and behaviors.

The way to combat this negative energy is to be aware of its existence and to take responsibility for our own actions and our own lives - by controlling the messages we receive. We must reverse the negative programming. (By the way, I have developed a process that addressees this subject “Are You Prepared For Success?” This process is completely laid out for you on this site.)

The solution is in taking control of our own destiny and controlling the type of messages that our mind receives. We must purposefully place positive, motivating, inspiring messages in both, our subconscious and conscious mind. This site “MondayMorningPower” is strewn with motivational quotes, empowering poems, essays and articles and positive energy. Let’s not forget a heaping dose of humor. Read the quotes; read the poems; read the essays; engross yourself in positive energy.

The result will be a more positive, pleasant, happy output with less stress and more productivity. As an individual, your thoughts become more positive. You become in charge of your life and its destiny. Your life becomes more empowered and powerful in expression.

In order to effect change in our lives, whether it is just a commitment to be a little more positive in our outlook or to make a radical change in the way we look at life, we must OWN the process. (I must clearly state that I am not leading you towards the purchase of anything. Everything that I talk about, including the “Process”, is laid out on this site.)

Both in my “Process” and in my essays I talk about ownership of these positive messages by the use of PASSION, PLEASURE & REPETITION, or as I call it the “Empowerment Triad.” When reading the quotes, or the poems, or the essays, speak it out loud; say it with Passion; feel the Pleasure of knowing that a change is imminent; and Repeat them often. What I do is to take a quote that has particular significance for me and repeat it out loud about 10 times in the morning before I start my day. It becomes totally energizing.

An added benefit of looking through motivational quotes is that you end up internalize by simply looking through the quotes in order to find the one that has the most meaning for you that day.

Can you imagine the impact it would have if everyone around you were positively motivated first thing in the morning? Take responsibility for your life and the reality you create by doing something positive for YOU! Take care of yourself first and many of life’s struggles will take care of themselves.

As I have dedicated this site to the “Pursuit, Capture, Care and Feeding of a Positive Mental Attitude,” you should dedicate your life to the “Pursuit, Capture, Care and Feeding of a Positive Mental Attitude.” You will be surprised at how the rest of your life seems to just fall into place.

Power

I use the word “power” a great deal in my writings. In fact, the first mention is at the beginning of my site “Attitude, the Ultimate Power” and in almost every essay that I write.

Apparently, this has caused some consternation with my readers. The following comes directly from a comment placed on one of my posts by Ramana (Rambodoc at large.)

“What is real power? Except for people who deal with issues that affect the lives of nations or entire planets, the most important achievement for an individual is to define the limits of his power. How important is it to be powerful? I think it is important only to the extent you can control your own life, not the lives or outcome of others. I say this because regardless of how inflated an opinion of self each of us may have, think of one thing: "If I die tomorrow, what happens?" The answer is humbling: exactly NOTHING! The world goes on with sublime disregard. So, how are we important? We are, but to our own lives. Once we lose the need to impress others with our power and influence, we will focus on self, and that is ALL that is needed to be successful and happy."

What Ramana is saying is very close to how I view “power”, but obviously, I was not very clear as to my meaning. In fact, I was not clear at all. For that I apologize.

This got me thinking, and as I told Ramana, that can really hurt. The way that I use the term “Power” is not necessarily the same way that others may use this term. My concept (definition) of “power” is inwardly directed, not outwardly directed.

The three major definitions of "power" are:

    1. Authority
    2. Strength
    3. Ability

In my writings “power” is best suited to the "ability" definition. So, in my description of "power" try substituting the word "ability."

The power that one has over his/her own life; the power not to give control of your happiness over to others; the power to control your own destiny; the power to NEVER take on the role of a victim, and the power to succeed in life. At no time in any of my essays or anything that I write or infer do I use the word power as influence over anyone other than yourself. This is absolute and unwavering in the whole concept of my blog.

He is most powerful who has power over himself.
